No problem paying for a years subscription. £4 more expensive than reading through RSS or the website, a little more expensive than a pint and substantially less than just a weeks worth of the print version. All good. But it’s really just the same app as before, tweaked a touch. I couldn’t care less about the comments sections or ‘trending’ to be honest, I’ll use Twitter of FB for that, I’d just like to have some journalism in me pocket. Consequently my main gripe is, that I bet like many, I use this to read offline and the download speeds are still excruciatingly long. My guess is that’s to differentiate between this and the more expensive ‘deliverable’ iPad version which they must have in the works. I just wish they’d get on with it so I can spend some more money or sort the download speed on this in the meantime… Introducing the new Guardian iPhone app | guardian.co.uk
